Brief

Messaging Gateway Plug-ins for new SMS services worldwide (various different kinds of SMS centres)

The Challenge

Mobile wireless providers round the world are always wanting to offer their customers new SMS services. Location based services are one such service (SMS notification if certain facilities are nearby), SMS notification about the account status (of prepaid cards) or information about the arrival or non-arrival of sent SMS messages.

To be able to offer the new services, new hardware from different manufacturers has to be linked to the providers’ SMS centres and this in turn requires messaging gateways. These need to be expanded with plug-in interfaces to take specially adapted software.

Solution

On behalf of NSN, DResearch programmed messaging gateway plug-ins to link different kinds of SMS centres and other special network elements for telecommunications companies in 42 countries..
